THIRD FRIDAY OF EVERY MONTH
Bobby Hankinson hosts a diverse line-up of LGBTQ performers for an evening of comedy and storytelling that is sure to make Mike Pence uncomfortable. It's not just gay, it's GAAAAAYYYYY. Gay like The B-52s are gay. Gay like Hocus Pocus is gay. Gay like Pee-Wee’s Playhouse is gay. Come for the laughs, stay for the fresh faces in your Grindr grid. Donations welcome for Streetwise & Safe, a local organization that works with LGBTQ youth of color.
SECOND MONDAY OF EVERY MONTH
826NYC, a nonprofit providing free writing programs to under-resourced New York City students, runs a hot new reading series with great emerging writers on the 2nd Monday of every month. Hosted by Danielle Sinay. Please join us for a fantastic night of fun and literature!
FIRST TUESDAY OF EVERY MONTH
Jokes? Bits? Gags? Punchlines? We want em! Try them out in this intimate and supportive space. Host Sam Zee will make you feel cozy if you're feeling cold, all for a one drink minimum. Walk-ins welcome, but emailing firstname.lastname@example.org secures you a spot and enters you in a raffle to win a half-price drink.
EVERY THIRD TUESDAY
Special Delivery is a talk show recorded live in Brooklyn hosted by country singer Dougie Poole and his sidekick Jordan Michael. Each episode features music from an upcoming artist, new songs and covers by Doug and an interview with a special guest.
SECOND SUNDAY - EVERY MONTH
There are stories in our lives that don't exactly fit. Magical occurrences that challenge our notion of reality, synchronicities nearly impossible to fathom, and otherworldly experiences that defy the boundaries of what we think is possible. Our narratives of life have little room for these anecdotes, regardless of their beauty or significance. My Dentist's Son is a place for stories that don't fit. A safe space where we can collectively revel in these tales of magic and wonder. A space to engender a more beautiful world where these occurrences are met with awe and respect. Share your tales of magic and miracles!
GIRL + GANG LIVE
EVERY FIRST MONDAY
EVERY SECOND THURSDAY
Words and Guitars is a monthly reading series that celebrates music and the community that music fandom creates. We gather together writers, artists, and musicians for a night of essays and performances for a night that will be as thought-provoking as it is fun. If you love music, then you're already invited.
EVERY SECOND TUESDAY
Every month Emily Walsh and Amanda Van Nostrand host just a few of New York's hottest stand out comedians.
EVERY FIRST FRIDAY
"We don't read and write poetry because it's cute. We read and write poetry because we are members of the human race." If you need a reminder of how human you are, join us for an open mic poetry night on the first Friday of every month. We can sound our barbaric yawps over the rooftops of the world (or just in Pete's back room). All are welcome! Tune in, turn on, and drop dead.
